My Paleo Journey - how I got to this point

As a weight loss solution I found the paleo diet in 2015 after watching an episode of Doctor Oz and was inspired. I began a 80/20 paleo diet and began exercising roughly four times per week with pretty good results. After four months I only lost about 15 lbs, but that put me at a pretty lean 150 lbs. A new job that gave me no solid routine and required long drives in the car completely changed my life style causing me to gain 30 lbs within a year that I have yet to get rid of, but I keep finding myself going back to paleo when I know I need a hard reset.

My reason for going back to paleo: the concept is easy. It requires real food that aides in proper nutrition and requires little to no calorie tracking (if you do it right). I found tracking calories to be time consuming and stressful, even with an app. I tried tracking my macros but found that to be confusing as well.

In 2017 I created a paleo inspired Instagram page to track my progress and create accountability but found myself falling into the trap of comparing myself to other bloggers and the illusion that social media can create. Since then I created the blog promising myself and others full transparency of who I am and what I do. I am not a stay at home heath food blogger; this is a hobby not a source of income. I do not have paid partnerships with any of the companies or items that I advertise in my posts, and I do not lead a 100% healthy lifestyle. I don't work out on a regular basis and I eat gluten, dairy, sugar, and fast food *GASP*, but this is me.
